Vegan Black Bean Burgers
These simple black bean veggie burgers are really easy and delicious!

Ingredients
- 2 (15-ounce) cans black beans drained and rinsed
- 2 medium carrots grated
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- hot sauce optionally add a splash of your favorite hot sauce.
- 6 whole wheat burger buns
- lettuce
- tomato sliced
- burger condiments of choice
Directions
- Add oats & sunflower seeds to a food processor or blender. Process until coarsely chopped. Then place in a large bowl.
- Grate carrots & add to bowl.
- Drain & rinse black beans. Add to bowl.
- Add seasonings & oil to the bowl.
- Using a fork begin to smash & mix the beans with the other ingredients. Continue to smash & mix until roughly 2/3 the beans are mashed and all the ingredients are combined.
- Form mixture into 6 patties then fry in a lightly oiled non-stick skillet until golden brown. (Approx 10min each side)
- Serve with all your favorite burger toppings.
- NOTES
- These burgers can be baked at 300 degrees for about 30minutes. The oven tends to dry the burgers out so I prefer to fry them on a skillet.
