Fried rice is easy and healthy! Mix and match ingredients according to taste and what you have in your freezer or pantry. To get the best result with your fried rice, use day old rice or allow it to cool and harden a bit after you cook it. Fresh rice does not fry well and tends to stick into clumps. Get that wok heated up and get frying!

The hoagie is basically a sub sandwich. The term “hoagie” came from a slang word used to describe Italian immigrants that were destitute. Deli owners would give away scraps of meat and cheese in an Italian roll known as a “hokie,” which the immigrants pronounced “hoagie.” In our family, a hoagie is a sandwich with your favorite toppings and broiled in the oven until toasted. Enjoy this hokie cold or golden brown!
