Description
You can’t beat homemade pizza! The taste, the price and the satisfaction of taking raw ingredients and making a beautiful crust! Rich red sauce, fresh mushrooms, red onions, green peppers, tomatoes and black olives make this pizza a vegetarian’s delight! What are you waiting for -- start tossing some dough!
Ingredients
- 1 c water, warm (100f)
- 2 1⁄2 c all purpose flour
- 1 c whole wheat flour
- 2 T olive oil
- 2 t sweetener (agave)
- 1 t salt
- 1 t yeast
- 1 c tomato sauce
- 1⁄2 c mushrooms
- 1⁄2 small red onion, chopped
- 1⁄2 med green pepper, chopped
- 1 med tomato, chopped
- 8 med black olives, sliced
Instructions
1. Place warm water into a bowl. Add salt, sweetener and gently mix. Add yeast, stir and set for 10min.
2. Add oil and flour 1 cup at a time while mixing wet and dry into a dough.
3. When the mixture is too thick to stir begin kneading dough with your hands. Add flour as necessary to keep dough from sticking to the work area or your hands.
4. Continue kneading dough until you have a smooth ball. If ball is too sticky, add flour; if ball cracks, add water.
5. Coat dough with oil and place in a bowl covered. Allow dough to rise for 30-45min. Compact dough and let sit for an additional 30-45min.
6. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and form into a round disc by stretching from the center outwards. When dough is 1/4” thick use a rolling pin to continue to form crust to desired shape and thickness.
7. Poke holes in crust with a fork. Top with veggies and bake at 400-450 degrees until crust is golden brown.
