The Ultimate Apple Prepping Tool
The counter-top Apple Corer / Peeler & Slicer is a great tool to quickly process apples for canning, apple sauce or pies!
During the Fall my wife generally buys a big box of apples (The joys of being close to Washington!) then meets with a girl-friend to process the bounty of apples into jars of apple sauce. After her first canning party she came home and added the Apple Peeler / Corer to our kitchen tools shopping list.
A few weeks later I found a like new Pampered Chef model in the original box for $4.99 at a local thriftstore! We love this tool and use it to quickly process apples for:
- Apple Sauce
- Apple Pies
- Apple Crisp
- Apple Oats Baked Casserole
And anything else we need quickly sliced apples for.
If you want to leave the skin on you can optionally adjust the peeling blade to not peel the apple. Our Pampered Chef model is well made and looks like it will last a long time!
